How do I import my Vespa GT200 L from the U.S. to Canada.?

Help! I own a scooter that I bought in the U.S. and want to import into Canada, where he now I live. This is GT200L that RIV seem to think that it is unacceptable (even though this model and model year are available for sale in Canada Vespa dealers). What can I do to get it imported into Canada?
