losing weight, if you cannot move?
I am 66 and diabetes. I was obese every day of my life (at birth weighed 10 pounds) I dont eat bread, cakes or sweets, I'm a vegetarian (hate salad!) Because when I was 14 I had arthritis in my spine and hip, and I'm not very mobile without electric scooters and motorbikes converted. I went to see a consultant recently about having metal parts installed in the back, and said that before he could do op I had to lose 6 stones (weighing 15 Wed. £ 5) and that I should take a lot of nice brisk walk, going to dance and take appropriate hold-class !!!!!!! As I was in his office in a wheelchair, which must be driven by a friend as I was grossly insulted and very humble. Glad I can leave my house more than twice a week, and then must use electricscooter. I lost weight during the last years, 2 blocks, through the inability to eat (I feel sick all the time). Any ideas out there? I'm still very depressed.
Started its limits. If you do not want to use the power, then walking around the house regularly to start, start doing it four times a day, and increase few weeks doing ten times a day - every hour you're awake. Start doing hand exercises every half hour in a chair - Just to make you a little breath. Get a little pedal exerciser (teletrimmer) and start doing 5 minutes each day, increasing to 15 minutes every day for two or three weeks, and then to 20 minutes, and then half an hour. Progress to walking twice around the house in time, or take scooter to the nearest supermarket, and start walking around the workshop - will have a flat surface and you can use shopping cart for support. Easy to do in all weathers. Arthritis in the spine and hip is not reason to exercise - check with your GP recovering sufficient to cover the pain they can do. Start a bed exercise program - bending and straightening each leg 10 times with each start and increase from there. If your adviser you do all those things, so it's a good thing - of course not no reason why the structural exercise every day a bit. Attitude is a huge factor - if you are used to brand themselves as immobile or chronically ill, you will unfortunately tend to respond to most proposals for amendments related to "I can do for ".... any reason. The biggest challenge is to change that "can not" to "How to" and "I". Another possibility to determine the get into the local pool three or four times a week and started doing lengths. Very safe form of exercise. Sounds it as your activity levels are fairly non-existent. You will have to work really hard to motivate yourself to top do more. Look at the calorie expenditure tables - are a good way to pat on the back for doing the normal daily activities - At least you have some burning calories. Bear in mind that even though you say you do not eat sweet things, you could still be very overeating - you do not need much fuel when you are burning very little. Small parts of nutritious food is what you need. If the majority of things you eat, tend to be fried or battered, or a lot of butter, you problem immediately. Good luck - there is no easy way out. Gastric band would only go so far, and I think it would be very reluctant to go through that you get your history. Make a start - that's the most important, and consolidate the same As you can change your outlook.
