I have a 2008 Jonway scooter and it requires that I use GL-3 gear oil, but I can not find any anywhere?
Does anyone know where to find him or any other alternative, which is equal to? I have no manual, but says it all the use of GL-3 gear oil, only. does weight. jo no luck here
Use GL4 or 5, you will probably only be able to find GL-5 rated oil …………………….. I do not know if youre interested, and do not need to know, but here is a brief overview the bare basics. "GL-" means Gear Lube. It's lubrication evaluation is based on base stocks, which are all the same. This is the "minimum spec" standard for the ingredients necessary for use in the equipment then it's lubrication reviews on a scale of 1 to 5,,, according to oil Anti-friction additives GL1,,, is very light, "and has no anti-wear additives. GL2, is "light, plus", and has very little anti-wear additives,,, maybe 1 ~ 2% GL3 "light-to medium-duty oil ",,, it has about 3%-wear additives. GL4 is a broad spectrum," light-to-heavy. It's almost like a minimum of 'universal oil ", which goes into almost everything has around 4% against wear, which is sufficient for GL5 hypoid gears is extremely heavy / severe service, "It's at least 6% anti-wear. Very good choice is Mobil 1 Synthetic. Use 75W-90 in his scooter. You can use it at least twice as long as recommended, and if I change both comprehensive OUT more oil than the brand new GL3 still in the bottle. I use Mobil 1,,, 75W-90 Lucas brand is excellent, but a bit harder Valvoline Synthetic Blend it is too good hope that helps
