Bahamas Taxi Rates Rules and Regulations, Bahamas Activities
According to the Bahamas Road Traffic Act, there are five basic types of vehicles for public transport.
1st Taxis
2nd Car Tours
3rd Car Rental
4th Self drive cars and scooters
5th Coach: (A) public service buses
(B) Private Coach Services Schedule
(C) of privately chartered bus services
Taxis
Taxis are licensed for a maximum of 12 people and can apply for rent anywhere in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Taxis can be either personal or minibuses and those operating in Grand Bahama and New Providence, must have working meters. Fares are set by the Government Bahamas. The current fare levels are for New Providence, Grand Bahama and the Family Islands was approved in July 2001.
General Rate: For one two passengers, frist quarter miles is $ 3.00. Each additional 1 / 4 mile is 40 cents. Additional passenger after the first two pay $ 3 per person. No charge for accompanied children under age five (5) The Rate Zone rates can be used on most standard trips on request. These rates are also set out the Government of the Bahamas. Relate to one or two passengers. For each additional passenger add $ 3.00

Bridge tolls are added to the path Paradise Island and is usually $ 1 - $ 2 depending on the size of Vechicle that you are traveling in.
Waiting Charge:
With the taxi to wait will cost you 30 cents per minute.
Baggage Fee: There is no charge for up to two pieces of cabin baggage, plus a small bag and a packet carried by each passenger. (A) Each additional piece of regular-sized luggage, 75 cents.
(B) Large bags and boxes $ 1.00
Car Tours
As Taxis, tour car is limited to 12 persons and can be either by car or minibus. However, they should be used only on a prearranged basis for the transport groups, one for tours or transportation purposes.Tour cars can be hired for sightseeing at $ 45 per hour (five or fewer persons). For each additional half hour or part thereof, $ 22.50, big cars, $ 60.00 per hour (up to twelve persons), $ 30.00 for each additional half hour.
Car Cars
Rental cars are located in New Providence and Grand Bahama. These are pre-ordered the chauffeur driven cars, rented by the hour or day, and are not allowed to ply for hire.
Self drive cars and scooters:
The drive cars and scooters are renting vehicles.
Omni Kiss
There are three categories of Omni Buses
(A) Public Service Bus Timetable Omni - commonly called Jitneys, This is a license for the transportation of fare between two points on the route file. Fares range from $ 1.00 - $ 2.00. Seniors, seniors and persons with disabilities pay 50 cents. Children under 3 years free
