Nottingham City, with two universities and several smaller schools, a large and diverse student population, which contributed its own creative flavor and nervous emotions younger neighborhoods. Some 40,000 full-time students to their place of Nottingham education life, work and play.
University of Nottingham is the largest educational institution in the city, with approximately 32,000 registered students in 2005. It has one of Britain's largest medical school, and the Queen's Medical Staff Center teaching hospital. University also maintains two international campuses in Malaysia and China.
University of Nottingham Students Union "consists of one hundred and fifty students and companies seventy-two university interest clubs and sports teams to participate in the British Universities Sports Association. Students at the university to produce a student magazine called "Impact", running at the University Radio Nottingham, and theater performances and special events in the New Theater.  "Campus 14" is a series of bars in the University Park campus, new students are often challenged to complete secret  "bar crawl" drinking at least one drink in each place.
University of Nottingham's main rival in the Nottingham Trent University (named for the Trent River, which flows through the center of town). It started as Trent Polytechnic, and later Nottingham Polytechnic, but became a fully-functioning university in 1992 and now teaches more than 25,000 students each year, focusing on a number of useful and high-end stores.
Like its rival institutions, Nottingham Trent has several campuses. Central area, which is near the center of Shakespeare Street, is known as the City Campus. Clifton Campus, home to, and humanities departments, and Brackenhurst Campus, which focuses rural and animal sciences, is located on the outskirts of town.
Nottingham Trent Students Union, coordinates the activities of approximately three dozen student organizations, and maintains several students shops, bars, gyms and other amenities. They also organize weekly musical evenings, publish and "Platform" student newspaper, and produce Fly FM and Kick FM radio programs.
Other schools the field, contributing to a living culture, a student at New College Nottingham is in Nottingham School of Fashion, Confetti Institute Creative Technologies, Nottingham High School, Bilborough College, Chilwell School, Nottingham High School for Girls, South Nottingham College, Greenwood Dale Technology College, Nottingham Bluecoat School and Technology College.
Old Market Square, Canalside, Lace Market and Hockley Village is a popular area for off-campus student entertainment. Waterfront and Corner House are popular gathering places, such as Palais, Ohm, Bar None, Cucamara, Lizard Lounge, Cookie Club, Jongleurs, Bell Inn, Daniela Hall, Square, Muse, and another three hundred and fifty pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants. One shouldnÂ't miss the visit to Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, either - the oldest pub in England, built half in a cave in the sandstone cliff.
The city boasts many musical scene, especially Rock City, Rescue Rooms, Stealth, social, Junktion 7, Old Angel, The Edge, the media, Ocean, Bomb, Blueprint, work and Boat Club, in addition to the Royal Concert Hall and the Nottingham Arena. There are many cinemas, theaters live, interactive and galleries to suit the visually inclined. Arboretum Park, Abbey Court,
 "LeftLionÂ" groundwater reservoir and Web sites provide valuable guidance to the music and social events for students and young people. The organization is named after the leftmost a pair of large stone lions that decorate the town hall steps at Old Market Square - legend has it left-hand lion named "Brian", while other is "Ryan". The square is also a meeting place for student events and celebrations, such as obtaining European Cup and FA Cup local football team Nottingham Forest.
Universities and other local sites are connected Nottingham Express Transit, or NET tram. Shopping areas, such as Broadmarsh Shopping Center, Victoria Center, and the Flying Horse Walk is easily accessible to students, as are high-fashion district of Hockley Village Gate and Bridlesmith.
