I am considering buying a scooter, as Honda Metropolitan Elite and 80th Need a motorcycle license? You drive one on the highway? Any ideas?

I have a metropolitan. It's quite nice, but can not go on the highway. You just can not get it going fast enough to be safe. No motorcycle license needed for the 50ccs (a metropolitan) and you can even park in the round shelves! (where I live at least) I have to go 42 MPH down once ... But I was also going downhill ... Still felt the least stable. I got a Metropolitan less than a month ago and I was thinking about upgrading to a motorcycle 250 cc. Going to test tomorrow, so I really temps. I want to have something you home from school (road more than 35 mph), and still want to have good MPG. The fact that the Metropolitan will receive ~ 100mpg is really cool, but the Yamaha V-Star 250 gets ~ 70mpg, which is still good, and gets more roads. It all depends on where you have to go. PS, elite 80 is a 80cc engine, so you need a license for a motorcycle, and increased speed will not suffice, so you up to speed on motorways. Moreover, when you go to a moped ... Metropolitan looks much better.
