What are good scooter books, websites, magazines, ECT? What brands of scooters is there, what is the best brand and why? In most states Scooters under 50 do not need a separate license, is it true? How much does insurance run? What is the highest in mph scooter? Most scooter 1 or 2 people? Can / do scooters come with sidecars or storage space? What else about scooters should I know? Thank you.

A good start would Meetup.com, they host many local groups with the know-how. http://scooter.meetup.com Most brands are good, but the reliability and after-sales support you should look at Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kymco, TNG, Sym, and Piaggio / Vespa. I ride Yamaha Vino 125 and it is indestructible by 55000 km and three drops. Some states do not require a license for 50cc scooters, but even so, you should have a safety course and get a license motorcycle-as it could save your life. Also, if there are many hills where you live and / or weigh more than 150 pounds then most 50cc scooters are dangerously underpowered IMO. Safest starter bikes are in the range of 125-150cc and they only cost a few hundred dollars more than 50 Insurance: It really varies, the best thing to do is go to the online quote site and play "what if" games.
