modding electric scooter, advice please!?

Hello, today I bought the E-Scooter from my neighbor for $ 20, with nothing very bad still running well, as was seen even riden around his child. Now the only problem is that it needs a new battery. ne ne is my question. His electric scooter, in its current form is far cannot drive with bad batteries and my size. Heard I have about people modding their mopeds and scooters with internal combustion engines and electric motors instead. I intend to invest in cheap engine, maybe the moped or something. What my best way would be to get even more powerful electric motor or gas type. this scooter can become means to circumvent and id want something nice, and if possible, quickly, and also a plan to update your meter to buy accurate ty. If any of you have done something similar, please give me advice. thank

Things you will need to be sure that are 1, the new engine to fit the bike to a place that you can connect the chain / belt on the rear wheel. This could be difficult the gas engine, where the electrical ... and 2, which has the same type of propulsion system. I know that many have electric belt drive and used according to a chain of gears on most gas engines. He gets especially difficult if you have full size scooter with all the fairings and lights, flaps, etc. because then you have to work on the electrical system from the engine to power, and all have to connect the new engine in the limited space under the fairing. if you want to give the gas engine to try some of these engines pocket bikes - They are quite compact and you can go to at least 30th Honestly, I can imagine that it is worth the use of time and money trying to convert. I just round. Also - thanks to the combination motorize wheel, which operate in the vicinity of $ 100 - that could work on your scooter or bike and are pretty versatile and very easy to do. Anyway good luck.
