scooter route - Murrieta / Temecula - Orange County, California?
Transit sucks in Murrieta. I am thinking about buying a cheap (probably 50cc?) Scooter for commuting to Orange County, a distance of about 55 to 60 miles. The bike I buy will not be able to use the highways, so there are safe routes I can legally drive between Murrieta and Orange County?
http://maps.google.com/ shows Murrieta - Fullerton to 56 miles / hour to one hour and one third. Click on the highways to prevent / avoid tolls and that jumps to 66 miles / two hours and fifteen minutes. Throw in the 35 mph limit on a 50cc scooter and are looking at three hours. * Low * Scooters are probably made in China and are of dubious quality. Most likely would not last one week doing high speeds for six hours a day. A 250 Ninja, Vulcan 500, Savage/S40, or similar road will travel - Save 15-20 hours per week in travel time.
