If you are trying to save a few buck on your freight costs in these days, you might want to consider a moped or scooter. Of course, if you do not live near your work or have a big family that is not possible. But for different people, students, or someone who has only a short commute to work, these vehicles can save you tons of money when it comes to what you pay at gas stations each month.

Many people alternate between the two concepts, but technically not the same. Here are some differences between the two:

Some of you reading this who are a little younger, may have never seen a moped. They look like a heavier duty version of the wheel. They have the engine, but also have pedals.

Scooters, on the other hand, has no pedals and it looks more like a mini motorcycle.

# 2 Motor

Mopeds are going to much weaker than most scooters. They usually 1 gallon tank with no more than 49 cc engine. Do not get me wrong, they will usually you more than 200 miles to the tank, but are limited in power.

Scooter, on the other hand, has evolved over the years. Scooters come with many different engine sizes ranging from 49 cc to 250 cc.

# 3 Speed

Mopeds resist their smaller engine, so only go to about 30 mph tops. Scooter can go anywhere from 25 mph to 60 mph depending on engine size.

# 4 Availability

Frankly, there will be many more options available to you if you chose a scooter through moped.

# 5 Affordability

Moped might be a little less expensive because a) they are usually not as high-tech, or b) you can actually find a used one if you want to go moped.

Scooters are much more advanced today, but some people the old school look af moped. Either way, both are going to save huge amounts of money at gas stations, where choose to use.
