scooter lift
I build a motor scooter with a motor chain saw or similar engine. I use the spindle or chain?
Got off-road style scooter and I want to connect either a chainsaw or a whipper snipper (weed Wacker) to motorize it. Wonder whether I should have driven spindle (shaft runs directly on the wheel using a smaller bike like a skateboard or rubber wheel) or chain drive ... I thought that if I had a spindle drive that could clog the mud, etc. as I live on a farm and wanted to ride the dusty ways. I think I could just not use it on wet days. I have bought the engine, but I want to know from some people who know what we are talking about what would be the best type of engine that I could use. I was wondering about it and I seem to prefer spindle powered engines, as I can lift shaft of the tire and slowly stop it. I really do not know anything this type of engines or machines, so it would be good if you could explain your answers ... Thank
google "motorizes wheel assemblies, to see how they do it. I dont think the friction disk will work very well. It also wrecks the tire when the belt and wear spots in the tire.
